Located 85 km (53 miles) north of Sept-Iles, and 900 km (560 miles) from Montreal, the Mabec main lodge overlooks Lake Manitou, named for the great spirit of the Amerindian peoples. More than 105 square km. (52 sq. miles) of lakes, rivers, forested hills, and mountains, make the territory a paradise for trout fishermen, and nature lovers.

Roughing it...in luxury

All guests arrive by air, touching down close to village of brightly painted two person log cabins designed to provide all the modern amenities: electricity, round-the-clock hot water, shower-equipped bathrooms, carpeting, and electric or oil heating. Bed linen and towels are provided, and rooms are made up daily. It is in a friendly atmosphere of the main lodge that guests will have their meals and trade stories around a crackling blaze in the massive fireplace.The main building also houses a TV and music room with a direct satellite feed, as well as a sauna to help you unwind. Every day our professional chef turns out copious, appetizing dishes to tempt the most refined diners, accompanied by the best in fine wines and spirites.
